ACCOUNTABILITY:

The County Judge is accountable to Grayson County citizens. As your next County Judge, business would be conducted openly, not behind closed doors.

LEADERSHIP:

I will be a leader with vision.  I will listen to the people in our County to hear their needs and concerns while maintaining the interest of citizens of the county.  I will bring that kind of leadership in our county.

TRANSPARENCY:

Transparency is a necessity in county government.  The public has a right to know how decisions are made and question their elected officials.  Under my leadership as County Judge, I would do that by keeping county government transparent.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Practice Conservative Financial Policies.
  • Administer Civic Justice.
  • Collaborate with County, City and Business Leaders as a Team to promote future economic development for Grayson County.

Economic Development Issues:
 
  •  
 Adopt a comprehensive proactive plan:
  We all need to carefully prepare for projected population growth. This plan must include providing adequate infrastructure.
Prime location, close to the Metroplex, but also far enough away from the hustle and bustle:
  We must make efforts to protect the "laid back" atmosphere that makes Grayson County attractive as a prime location for development
Hwy 289 expansion, North Texas Regional Airport:
  There will be tremendous potential for growth and we need to be ready to attract major companies that want to move into Texas.
Lake Texoma:
  As one of the best-kept recreational and commercial secrets in North Texas, the fishing, sailing and boating is among the best in the Southwest.
Get citizens involved ... brain storming ... cities working together:
  We need to start taking advantage of the great wealth of experience we have in our county by coming together for the benefit of everyone.
What are the VALUES of our county:
  We have a rich history and need to preserve the historical heritage and human resources of Grayson County.
Texas is growing in population and business growth:
  We are centered uniquely between Dallas and Oklahoma City, so we need to take advantage to be pro-growth and business friendly.
Very attractive to Fortune 500 Companies:
  Texas is business friendly where space is available for small companies up to global conglomerates in our county.
What will Grayson County look like in 20 years:
  Now is the time for planning the growth. We do not want to end up like some of the cities and counties to the south. How can we make attractive plans for the future?
