As your Justice of the Peace, Judge Middents is committed to treating everyone with fairness and respect. Judge Middents tries to practice high ethical standards. He realizes that not everyone who comes into contact with the Court is going to come out a winner. By treating everyone with fairness, dignity and respect, he has made the Justice Court into what is truly a "Court of the People."

Many people do not realize that a Justice of the Peace is "On Call" 24 hours a day, every day of the week. Since Sherman is the county seat, the position is even more demanding as after hours services include:

Initial evaluation for involuntary psychiatric hospitalization.
Evaluation of the cause of death and completion of death certificates for unexpected deaths.
Review of all deaths of children.
Coordination of death certificates during natural disasters.
Determination whether autopsies are needed.
